About the role
A Kroger Deli Clerk creates an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service while encouraging other associates to do the same. As a Deli team member, you will establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Deli Clerk assists the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitors all established quality assurance standards.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a safe and clean environment for customers.
- Assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals.
- Maintain quality assurance standards.
- Model exemplary customer service and suggest product options to customers.
- Prepare food items according to customer requests and recipes.
- Ensure proper labeling, dating, covering, rotating, and monitoring of deli items for quality and freshness.
- Provide knowledgeable and helpful responses to customer inquiries about deli products.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
Requirements
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Desire to gain an understanding of food production and basic cooking techniques.
- Effective communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
- Good basic math skills.
- Ability to obtain a current food handlers permit once employed.
