About the role

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Cook C for Dining Services. The position assists in overall cooking operations and guides and instructs cooks helpers, grill attendants, and Dining Service Worker B in preparing a variety of food items following standardized procedures and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the overall cooking operations of a unit.
• Guide and instruct cooks helpers, grill attendants, and Dining Service Worker B in the performance of a variety of food items following standardized procedures and schedules.

Requirements

• High school/vocational school education or equivalent plus one year of varied cooking experience in a large‑volume institutional or restaurant setting.
• Ability to pass the Food Handler’s Certification.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Line cooking experience (preferred).

Skills

• Ability to read and follow standardized recipes and production work sheets.

Pay

Salary range: Minimum $35,503.86, Mid‑range $41,537.78, Maximum $47,724.90 per year. The final offer will consider qualifications, experience, department/grant funds, market benchmarks, and internal equity.

Schedule

Full‑time position with standard 40 hours per week. Work arrangement is fully on‑site.
