Essential Job Duties
- Prepares food items on the Dining Service Director's daily menu for residents within scheduled time frame.
- Keeps food service areas clean.
- Maintains inventory.
- Assists in the supervision of servers in the absence of the Dining Service Director or Dining Manager.
- Maintains clean, neat, and safe work environment.
- Affirms resident diets are being followed.
- Observes and communicates to the Dining Service Director any problems or potential issues in the dietary department.
- Works with little to no supervision.
- Cooks large quantities of food and delivers a superior product.
- Maintains professionalism under stress.
- Respects resident rights and adheres to community policy on resident care.
- Has excellent attendance.
- Performs all other duties assigned by Dining Service Director.
Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification
- ServSafe certification preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of rules and regulations related to health and safety in food preparation.
- Knowledge of cooking times and temperatures in accordance with state guidelines.
- Demonstrates ability in a wide range of food preparation and skills.
- Experience working with seniors and their dietary needs preferred but not required.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Physical Requirements
- Physically able to bend and reach.
- Physically able to push and pull and lift up to 40-50 pounds if necessary.
- Physically able to stand for an extended period of time.
- Ability to work in hot/humid environments for extended periods of time.
