Responsibilities

  • Plan menu and order groceries.
  • Prepare and cook meals 3 days per week, including a light breakfast (e.g. coffee, yogurt, pastries, fruit) and lunch only for approximately 15-25 people.
  • Set up and arrange tables for meals.
  • Clean up the program area as directed.
  • Maintain records of meal plans and consumption.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of special diet food preparation.
  • Knowledge of kitchen safety, sanitation, and maintenance practices.
  • Basic cooking and food handling skills.
  • Basic math skills (measuring, portioning, inventory).
  • Experience in preparing and cooking meals for groups.
  • Able to read and communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, program directors and employees.
  • High School graduate or GED.
  • Possess a driver’s license and own a vehicle to travel to the grocery store.

Pay

$20/hour.

Schedule

Part-time, up to 20 hours per week.
