About the Role
The Cook is primarily responsible for prepping and producing menu items for Plateia Restaurant guests and in-room dining items for LCC hotel guests. The incumbent interacts with team members and clients in a high-volume restaurant environment. The Cook may also assist the LCC Banquets team based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and produce menu items for restaurant and in-room dining guests
- Interact with team members and clients in a high-volume environment
- Assist the LCC Banquets team as needed
- Read, understand, and follow recipes, measurements, and portion sizes
- Apply knowledge of sanitation, safety, and inventory control in food production, storage, and service
- Comply with safety standards for personal and public safety
- Produce and present food in a high-volume restaurant environment under fluctuating workloads and schedules
- Review daily orders and plan work schedules using organizational and time management skills
- Maintain regular, punctual attendance
- Operate independently and exercise good judgment to ensure customer satisfaction
Requirements
- 3+ years of food preparation and general kitchen maintenance, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, understand, and speak English sufficient to perform job duties
- Ability to engage with diverse populations respectfully and in a culturally responsive manner
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team
- Strong culinary techniques, practices, and understanding of culinary terminology
- Available to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on business needs
Qualifications
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety rules for food production, storage, and service
- Knowledge of inventory control principles and methods
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
- Ability to exercise good judgment independently
Special Conditions for Employment
- Continued employment contingent upon satisfactory background investigation

- Must be 18 years or older
- Employment contingent upon completion of a satisfactory pre-placement physical examination
Pay
