Job Responsibilities
- Safely handles and stores food according to guidelines.
- Performs daily Quick Check reviews and corrects issues as necessary.
- Tests and records food temperatures, discarding expired or contaminated items.
- Wears protective gear and follows infection control policies.
- Prepares meals following standardized recipes and special diet requirements.
- Ensures timely and correct meal production, portion control, and plating.
- Cleans and sanitizes kitchen and equipment daily and after use.
- Stores, chills, and reheats leftovers appropriately.
- Assists other staff in kitchen operations and closes the kitchen as needed.
Job Requirements
- One year experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, hospital, or similar institution.
- Food handlers' card or equivalent certification.
- Understanding of sanitation, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
- Effective communication skills with co-workers, residents, and the public.
- Regular, predictable, and dependable attendance.
