Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals for 50+ residents following planned menus, recipes, and portion guidelines.
- Ensure meals meet therapeutic diet requirements and dietary restrictions as ordered.
- Lead, direct, and support dietary servers during meal service.
- Cook in large quantities while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Coordinate meal timing and service flow to ensure residents receive meals promptly.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe kitchen environment in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Follow proper food handling, storage, and infection control practices.
- Avoid waste and maintain accurate production records and temperature logs.
- Provide courteous and resident-centered service at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous cooking experience required; long-term care or healthcare setting experience preferred.
- Experience supervising or leading staff strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of modified diets (mechanical soft, pureed, diabetic, etc.) a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- ServSafe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
