About the role
Works as a member of the Nutrition Services team to provide exceptional service and assistance to patients, staff and other customers. Serves and portions food; performs basic food preparation and maintains cleanliness of foodservice areas and equipment. Contributes to and promotes a positive work environment; role models Summit Pacific behavior and service standards.
Responsibilities
- Performs opening duties at either the Wellness Center or at the Medical Center kitchens; assemble mise en place for each meal service, execute recipes, prepare and serve for each service period.
- Provides back of the house support to ensure product is ready and available during service periods.
- Provides front of the house support, serving and working the line during peak service spikes.
- Assists at Medical Center when required.
- (Wellness Center) Prepares and serves all patient meals, Floor Stocks, Custom orders, Comfort Carts, Retail Café Service as required.
- (Patient Services) Assists with catering and special events, including preparation, set up and tear down.
- Maintains a clean as you go work environment; communicates product needs for menus, utilizes FIFO methods when receiving product inventory; adheres to regulations regarding cleaning, sanitation, and time and temperature controls of food products and equipment.
- Provides support to the Manager/Executive Chef, and the Registered Dietitian with regard to record keeping, operating the Point-of-Sale system, menu planning and execution, demonstration cooking and/or presentations in educational settings.
- Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards.
- Consistently demonstrates SPMC values and provides all customers/guests with excellent service experience.
- Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Three months of customer service experience.
- Food handling experience required.
Skills
- Ability to learn and follow established policies and procedures.
- Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively and to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to operate common tools and kitchen equipment.
- Basic mathematics skills; ability to accurately process cash register transitions and make appropriate change.
- Knowledge and/or training related to special diets preferred.

Pay
Pay Range (depending On Experience): $20.33 - $28.38
Schedule
Fte 1 Work Shift SVC Contract 8 hour shifts in a 40 hour work week
