- Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and menus.
- Ensure food is prepared, presented, and served in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Follow therapeutic and modified diet requirements as directed.
- Maintain proper food temperatures and storage procedures.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, equipment, and kitchen surfaces.
- Follow all federal, state, and local food safety regulations.
- Work collaboratively with dietary staff and other departments.
- Provide excellent customer service to residents, families, and guests.
- Previous cooking experience preferred, ideally in healthcare, long-term care, restaurant, or institutional food service.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to follow recipes and dietary instructions.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
