Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu plans.
- Assist in menu planning, considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
- Manage food inventory, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper food handling practices.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service times.
- Provide assistance as needed for catering events or special functions.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods.
- Experience in fine dining or catering environments is preferred.
- Proficient in menu planning and understanding dietary needs as a dietary aide.
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking equipment.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team setting.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Food Handlers Card.
