About the role
This position is primarily responsible for ensuring all meals are prepared and shipped according to departmental specifications, standards, and practices. Additionally, this role involves preparation, production, setup, and service of meals.
Responsibilities
- Ensure meals are prepared and shipped in accordance with departmental specifications, standards, and practices.
- Prepare, produce, set up, and serve meals.
- Occasionally prepare food for catered events.
- Plan, prepare, portion, and package all foods as assigned.
- Work closely with food service personnel, FSTP students, and volunteers.
- In the absence of a manager, direct kitchen associates, students, and drivers on duty to ensure production, service, and delivery goals are met.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least one (1) year of banquet and catering set up
- ServeSafe/Sanitation Certification
- Three (3) years food service experience in institutional cooking, catering, kitchen, or food service operations
- Punctual, compassionate, good disposition, flexible, attentive to safety, professional, and shows initiative
- Focused on job quality and continuous improvement, tolerant, and committed to department unity and teamwork
Qualifications
- Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED, preferred: Culinary Arts degree or diploma in food service management
Skills
- Experience shipping meals to various sites in varying quantities and variety
- Experience working in a human service environment dedicated to serving the homeless community and individuals with substance abuse issues
- Knowledge and experience in menu and food production planning, nutrition, and special diets

$21.40 - $30.00 per hour, DOE
Schedule
40 hours, Days and hours vary based on operational need: hours of operation 5:00am – 8:00pm, holidays included
