Cook

PURPOSE

The Cook reports directly to the Food and Beverage Director.

Cook Preparation and Food Service

• Prepares and serves meals in a timely manner
• Adheres to posted menus and approved Phoenix standardized recipes
• Prepares food items as directed
• Handles special dietary needs and texture modified food
• Maintains sanitary conditions and follows regulatory procedures
• Monitors food quality and temperature
• Operates dish machines and cleans dishes, utensils, and cookware
• Records equipment, refrigeration, and food temperatures
• Manages kitchen inventory and rotates products
• Records food production quantities and taste evaluations

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required
• Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred
• One (1) year job-related experience in food preparation
• Maintains a current SERV Safe certificate or participates in training to become certified
