Oak Plains Academy (a UHS Company) is a 98-bed residential treatment program offering psychiatric residential treatment services to children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral challenges. Residents receive individualized treatment plans delivered by a professional team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, nurses, and teachers. The campus is located on 20 acres in Ashland City, Tennessee, about 45 minutes from Nashville, featuring a full-size gymnasium, dining hall, academic building, and four dormitories.

About the role

Part-time Cook position available for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, totaling 24 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to dietary guidelines.
• Ensure food safety standards are met during food handling and preparation.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dining areas.
• Collaborate with dietary staff to plan menus that meet the nutritional needs of residents.
• Support the dietary department in inventory management and food ordering.
• Provide excellent service during meal times, ensuring a positive dining experience for residents.
• Assist with meal preparation tasks as needed.
• Follow all health regulations and company policies regarding food service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License or valid photo state ID.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and food guidelines.
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with staff and residents.
• Must attend two-week orientation classes, Monday through Friday.
• Successful background check, fingerprinting, and employment verification required.
