Essential Functions (including, but not limited to)
- Serves as a support to the organization's mission, vision, and core values.
- Fulfills hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Prepares and serves quality food accurately and attractively according to dietary requirements and menu plans.
- Maintains kitchen sanitation and safety standards, ensuring compliance with state, local, and regulatory agencies.
- Assists with food production setup, service, and clean-up.
- Maintains proper sanitation and storage of kitchen equipment, food, and supplies.
- Maintains proper food temperatures throughout preparation and service.
- Assists patients with their menus, addressing questions, complaints, and concerns with compassion.
- Provides special request foods as needed and understands modified diets.
- Works collaboratively towards the nutritional well-being of patients and residents.
Working Conditions
- Subject to frequent interruptions and interactions with various individuals and groups.
- Involved in patient/resident care, personnel interactions, and administrative tasks.
- Communicates with medical staff, department personnel, and other departments.
- May be required to work beyond normal hours and in temporary positions.
- Subject to emergency situations and potential injuries from falls, burns, odors, and chemical exposure.
- Exposed to warm kitchen temperatures and high humidity.
Qualifications
- Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Good organizational skills to meet timelines.
