About the role
As a Cook, you play a vital role in our community by preparing meals for our residents in accordance with regulatory guidelines. You ensure the quality and temperature of food items while maintaining safety and sanitary conditions. You comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Your warm and friendly demeanor helps you provide excellent customer service and build relationships with residents, their families, visitors, and colleagues. You take pride in making a difference in the lives of our residents.
Responsibilities
- Prepare meals for residents following regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure quality and temperature of food items.
- Maintain safety and sanitary conditions in the kitchen.
- Comply with federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service and build relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic, understand measurements, and follow written and oral instructions.
- Cook experience preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
- Solid communication skills, attention to detail, and multi-tasking abilities.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and interact with residents, vendors, and team members.
- Experience in a geriatric nursing facility is preferred but not required.
- Trustworthy, respectful, dependable, professional, and a team player.
- Enjoys serving and caring for seniors and can establish good rapport with others.
