About the role

Responsibilities
- Support MVCDC's mission and quality management principles, working towards agency and program goals.
- Represent MVCDC professionally in interactions with staff, parents, Board of Trustees, volunteers, and the community.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with agency policies.
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks.
- Recommend food and menu adjustments as needed.
- Ensure the safety and supervision of children during daily routines.
- Adhere to established standards of sanitation, safety, and food preparation.
- Maintain a clean and secure environment, and use property and equipment responsibly.
- Keep accurate food service records and submit them to supervisors on time.
- Train and evaluate staff in nutrition-related duties.
- Conduct performance reviews, training, and evaluations.
- Participate in meetings, training, and college courses, including obtaining Level II Food Safety Certification.
- Implement new knowledge to improve job performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License and/or access to transportation to other centers as needed
- Ability to meet and maintain compliance with ODJFS, USDA, Health, and Sanitation regulations
- High school diploma/GED
- Ability to reach overhead to remove food from cabinets and stock shelves
- Six months of experience in quantity cooking
- Be able to stand 90% of the workday
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
