Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook students’ meals in compliance with government and management directives
• Prepare vegetables, salads, meats, bread, and desserts as instructed, ensuring appetizing and eye-appealing presentation
• Prepare meats for cooking by washing, trimming, boning, cutting, cubing, or forming into patties or loaves
• Cook or bake items requiring minimum preparation
• Replenish napkin dispensers, plate racks, silverware racks, salt and pepper shakers, and condiments
• Make coffee, tea, and other beverages; set up cafeteria lines and serve meals
• Assist in the storage and inventory of supplies; transfer food ingredients from storage to cooking area
• Clean food service area, tables, and kitchen equipment and appliances
• Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly, workable condition
• Ensure the work area is safe, clean, and sanitary at all times

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must possess a current ServSafe certification or obtain it within 30 days of employment
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
