About the role
Lorien Columbia is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Dietary Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate should be passionate about preparing nutritious, delicious meals and enjoy learning new culinary techniques.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of meals using innovative cooking methods while maintaining high standards of quality and care.
- Follow dietary procedures and food preparation standards.
- Ensure food safety and sanitation practices are adhered to.
- Handle and prepare food items with proper knife skills and safe food handling techniques.
- Assist wherever needed to ensure quality service and resident satisfaction.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- At least 21 years of age.
- ServSafe Certification preferred.
- Experience with batch cooking preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Strong integrity, dependability, and work ethic.
- A positive attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to assist wherever needed to ensure quality service and resident satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Competitive Pay: Starting at $17.00-$20.00 per hour, based on experience.
- Outstanding Full-Time Benefits: 80 hours of Paid Time Off (vacation), 40 hours of paid sick leave (rolls over annually), 7 personal days, 7 paid major holidays, double-time pay when working on a holiday.

Schedule
- Full-Time Schedule: 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM every other weekend rotation required (Saturday and Sunday).
- Ability to safely lift, push, and pull up to 25-50 pounds as part of daily job responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation.
