About the role

The Cook is responsible for food preparation, cooking, service, supervising kitchen staff, and adhering to sanitation standards at our Older Adult Center located in Coney Island, Brooklyn.

Responsibilities

• Menu planning; submitting orders and properly storing food.
• Coordinate food preparation, meal service, and clean-up.
• Ensure food is at a proper temperature and maintain a clean environment.
• Take inventory and keep record of food usage.
• Attend required trainings and complete required courses.

Requirements

• Prior experience as a Cook.
• Valid Food Protection Certificate.
• Ability to stand for long hours.
• Ability to lift heavy objects.
• Willing to work early morning hours.
• Can read, write, and speak in English.

$28.00 - $30.00 per hour.
