Great Western Dining Service is seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Avila University, preparing delicious meals on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am until 7pm. This is a weekend part-time position.

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Prepare, portion, cook food items for various meal periods or special events
• Able to follow basic recipes and production information
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
• Able to follow all company HACCP and safety policies

Skills And Qualifications

• Proven experience as cook
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
• Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment
• Able to follow all sanitation procedures
• Able to work in a team environment
• Very good communication skills

Requirements

• Physical requirements of the job: Continuous standing/walking and other means of mobility up to 8 hours a day
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push/pull and frequently lift/move up to 30 pounds
