About the role

Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines is seeking a part-time Cook to join its local council. The Cook provides nutritious, well-prepared meals for an organization with a mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious, well-prepared meals
• Adhere to standards of food preparation, serving, and storage
• Follow kitchen procedures and food service sanitation practices
• Prepare special dietary foods, including vegetarian options
• Operate kitchen equipment safely
• Assess cleanliness of dishes, food surfaces, and kitchen area
• Evaluate the condition of food
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds, including unloading food, supplies, and equipment
• Provide first aid and assist in emergencies

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Authorized to work for any employer in the US (no visa sponsorship available)
• Desire to work in food service
• Knowledge of food preparation, serving, storage, and kitchen procedures
• Knowledge of current health and safety laws and practices
• Experience preparing special dietary foods, including vegetarian options
• Commitment to the aims and purpose of the Girl Scout movement

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand or walk for long periods (60 minutes or more)
• Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental hazards and behavior
• Physical mobility and endurance to perform tasks in a kitchen environment

Pay

$17.00 per hour.
