Position Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and therapeutic diet requirements.
- Ensure meals are prepared and served on time while maintaining quality, taste, and proper food temperatures.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
- PRACTICE proper portion control and food presentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, equipment, and food preparation areas.
- Assist with receiving deliveries, inventory management, food storage, labeling, and stock rotation.
- Work collaboratively with the Dietary Manager and interdisciplinary team to meet residents' nutritional needs and preferences.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, local, and facility regulations.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, long-term care, assisted living, hospitality, or restaurant setting is required.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and infection control practices.
- Ability to read and follow standardized recipes and dietary instructions.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Dependable, positive, and able to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Must be reliable and committed to providing exceptional service to our residents.
