Essential Functions

• Prepare pre-planned cycle menus in an efficient and effective manner
• Perform food preparation tasks as assigned
• Absorb and execute production orders on tray cards
• Determine if the food prepared meets the highest possible quality in taste and flavor
• Aid in planning cooking schedules
• Confirm foods are ready on time for tray service
• Maintain and improve standards of food storage, preparation, and services
• Aid in checking food supplies on food order forms
• Pushes carts to halls or kitchen
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, hygienic methods of food preparation and storage
• Show interpersonal skills
• Operate kitchen equipment with competency
• Handle moderate to heavy lifting (50-pound maximum), bending, reaching, and stooping

Education, Licensure, and Experience

• Required: Current Food Handlers card (or ability to obtain one) issued by local Health Department
• Prior cooking experience in a skilled nursing environment is preferred
