About the role

This position prepares meals at our Lidgerwood location and serves them according to the menu plan in a timely manner while maintaining a clean kitchen and serving area.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve the daily noon meal.
• Prepare the day’s menu according to the menu plan and package meals for Meals on Wheels and carry-out meals, all in a timely manner.
• Clean meal preparation and serving areas according to health standards, following a monthly, weekly, and daily cleaning schedule for kitchen equipment.
• Supervise volunteers and schedule Meals on Wheels volunteers.
• Order food and kitchen supplies according to the menu plan and maintain accurate inventory of all ordered items.
• Review the monthly menu to ensure compliance with USDA and Aging Services guidelines.
• Collaborate with supervisor on monthly menus to meet nutritional guidelines per USDA and Aging Services.
• Assist with registration for congregate and carry-out meals.
• Assist with completion of annual assessments for congregate and carry-out meals.
• Complete daily receipting of meal program income and prepare deposits.
• Keep direct supervisor promptly informed of key or significant issues or concerns.
• Maintain a safe work environment by responding to hazardous situations and notifying supervisory personnel.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience working in a restaurant or food service setting preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Schedule

Day hours, no nights or weekends.
