Be our new Head Cook at our Healthy Aging program, serving up nutritious, tasty meals for your elderly community.
Responsibilities
- You bring purpose to the kitchen, preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that support the health and well-being of older adults in our Healthy Aging program.
- As Head Cook, you lead with care and integrity, ensuring every meal is both nourishing and thoughtfully prepared, while creating a welcoming dining experience for those you serve.
- As the Head Cook, you will prepare and cook meals for Elderly Center participants according to menus approved by registered dietitian, supervising the activities of one or more helpers who assist in the preparation and serving of meals.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals guided by dietitian-approved menus, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to dietary needs.
- Lead and support kitchen staff, training team members and overseeing food preparation, service, and cleanup with efficiency and care.
- Manage food operations responsibly by purchasing supplies, tracking inventory, and ensuring cost-effective decisions.
- Maintain accurate records and compliance, including food usage, temperature logs, and safe packaging for home-delivered meals.
- Create a warm, reliable dining experience that promotes dignity, comfort, and well-being for every participant.

Qualifications
- Education/Background: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent is preferred but not required. At least 2 years’ experience in preparing menus and cooking large quantities of food.
- Must have a valid Maricopa County Health Card.
- Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred.
- This position requires driving on behalf of the company. Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license, meet the company’s motor vehicle record (MVR) standards, meets company’s insurance eligibility, and comply with all state and federal driving requirements.
