About the role

The Food and Nutrition Services Cook assists in the preparation of cooked foods for our patients, visitors and colleagues. Under direct supervision of the Executive Chef/Food Service Director, the Line Cook provides food that is safe, unadulted, and attractive, that is prepared within the food safety guidelines. Hospital nutrition services ensure that all patients are fed according to their dietary needs and restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, season and cook food for hospital patients, employees and visitors.
• Practice excellent food safety and sanitation procedures while working within the requirements of regulatory agencies.
• Assist with special events and catering functions.
• Serve on tray line and work as salad/sandwich cook and grill cook when needed.

Requirements

• Food Handler’s Permit OR ServSafe Certificate required within 30 days of hire.
• A minimum of one year cooking experience with quantities of 100 or greater.
