About the role

The Willows at Red Oak Recovery, located in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Asheville, NC, is a trauma-informed clinical addiction treatment center for adult women. We provide a safe and welcoming environment where women can focus on recovery. Our kitchen staff prepares nutritious, culturally inspired meals, and we take pride in feeding our clients well. We are seeking a personable and dependable Cook to join our team, responsible for preparing approximately 10 meals per week (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) for 20–85 people.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily flow of food service operations, including food prep, cleaning, and special projects from harvests.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure meals accommodate client and staff dietary needs.
• Improve kitchen efficiency and uphold safety and sanitation standards.
• Teach hands-on cooking classes as needed.
• Provide leadership and guidance to kitchen apprentices.

Requirements

• Experience in food service or a related field.
• Knowledge of food sanitation practices (SERV Safe Certification required).
• Ability to lift 40 lbs. comfortably.
