Cook
About the role
The New York City Mayor’s Office oversees city services throughout the five boroughs, coordinates public agencies and departments, and manages public property. The administration is working to make the city more affordable, reduce inequality, improve public safety, ensure efficient and effective service delivery, and strengthen the city’s economy. Gracie Mansion, known as New York’s “People’s House,” has been the official residence of the Mayor since 1942 and dates back to 1799. It hosts mayoral events and functions and involves partnerships with city agencies such as NYC Parks, NYPD, and City Hall, as well as nonprofits like the Gracie Mansion Conservancy and Historic House Trust. Reporting to the Senior Executive Chef, the Cook prepares and serves high-quality meals for the Mayor, the Mayor’s family, and their guests for daily service, events, and official functions, maintaining strict confidentiality and focusing on South Asian and Middle Eastern cuisines.
