Responsibilities

• Supports the philosophy, mission, commitment, vision, and values of the community
• Checks menu item ingredients for quality, wholesomeness, and quantity
• Prepares meals and snacks
• Utilizes sound food handling practices for storage and preparation of each menu item
• Maintains a strict “clean as you go” practice ensuring a clean, professional work environment
• Reports equipment maintenance concerns and follows up on repairs
• Coordinates the next day’s food production needs, including pulling and thawing frozen items
• Works with the management team to plan special theme/holiday occasions
• Provides top-quality food presentation as directed by the Executive Chef
• Assists in completing temperature and meal record logs, and participates in taste testing and temperature recording
• Consults regularly with the Executive Chef to ensure items meet established standards
• Performs other duties as deemed necessary

• Ability to work as a cohesive team member
• Ability to read, write, and speak basic English and understand questions from residents and family members
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions and apply practical problem-solving skills
• Ability to perform well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude
• Professional in appearance and conduct
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to be patient and polite
• Healthcare experience preferred
