About the role

Cook and serve breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack for children. The Cook is responsible for menu planning, food ordering, keeping the kitchen clean, following food safety guidelines, and ensuring meals are prepared and served on time.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.
• Follow the approved menu and CACFP guidelines.
• Create menu and order food.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and sanitary.
• Wash dishes, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Receive and properly store food deliveries.
• Follow all food safety, health department, and licensing regulations.
• Prepare meals on schedule and work efficiently.
• Work with staff regarding food allergies or special dietary needs.
• Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Dependable, organized, and able to work independently.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Must pass required background checks.

Nice to have

• Previous cooking or kitchen experience is preferred but not required.
