Responsibilities

• Prepare large quantities of a variety of foods including meats, fish, poultry, gravies, cereals, soups, vegetables, and other foods using various cooking and seasoning methods.
• Adhere to proper preparation methods and follow recipes as directed in the operational menu plan for the facility’s food service operation.
• Maintain accurate production records and prepare meals according to scheduling and sanitation standards.
• Ensure quality assurance of all foods and supplies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and one (1) year of prior experience in food preparation (obtained in commercial, military, or institutional settings) strongly preferred.
• At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Must pass criminal clearances (Act 33 and 34, state & child clearances, and FBI background checks) screening for crimes including drug-related offenses, violent crimes, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, and repeated misdemeanors.
• Non-communicable diseases physical exam required.
• Ability to work with computers and necessary software typically used by the department.
