Position Summary
As a Cook II, you'll play an important role in delivering high-quality food in one of Arizona's premier entertainment venues. This mid-level culinary position is ideal for cooks who have solid kitchen experience and are ready to take on more responsibility while continuing to grow their culinary skills.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, menus, and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
- Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Ensure food is prepared, held, and served at proper temperatures.
- Rotate, label, date, and store products using FIFO procedures.
- Maintain clean, organized, and sanitized workstations throughout each shift.
- Communicate inventory needs and food quality concerns with kitchen leadership.
- Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing deliveries.
- Support fellow team members and work multiple kitchen stations when needed.
- Complete opening, closing, and cleaning procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- At least 1 year of culinary experience in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
- Experience preparing premium-quality food.
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment.
- Ability to read and follow recipes, prep lists, timelines, and written instructions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain calm and organized under pressure.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality in an event-driven environment.
- Valid Maricopa County Food Handler's Card (or ability to obtain one before employment).
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift more with assistance.
- Work comfortably in varying temperatures, including kitchens, coolers, and storage areas.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on the event schedule.
