What You'll Do
- Prepare high-quality meals while maintaining exceptional food safety, sanitation, and customer service standards.
- Depending on your assigned kitchen, you may work in:
- Fine Dining Restaurant – Prepare beautifully presented meals in an upscale dining atmosphere.
- Made-to-Order Kitchen (Line Cook) – Cook fresh menu items to order in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Cafeteria/Healthcare Dining – Prepare nutritious meals in a high-volume setting that supports residents and healthcare services.
- Responsibilities Include:
- Preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner service.
- Setting up and organizing your workstation before meal service.
- Cooking menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards.
- Preparing ingredients and planning for upcoming meal periods.
- Maintaining proper food labeling, dating, rotation, and storage.
- Following all food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Safely operating commercial kitchen equipment.
- Communicating inventory needs and product concerns with the Chef on Duty.
- Completing cleaning and closing duties.
- Working collaboratively with fellow cooks and dining team members to provide an exceptional dining experience.

- Takes pride in food presentation and customer service.
- Can work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and food safety practices.
- Is dependable and adaptable to a variety of kitchen settings.
- Previous cooking experience in a restaurant, healthcare, senior living, hotel, or institutional setting is preferred but not required.
- Opportunities for advancement may include: Lead Cook, Sous Chef, Chef on Duty, and Dining Services Leadership.
- Graduate of culinary school or have 1 to 2 years cooking experience in a health care setting, restaurant, or dining facility.
