About the role
The Conveyor Technician I and III positions are responsible for maintaining and repairing material handling equipment and facilities in a 24/7 operation. This role involves troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and ensuring safety in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Repair and improve automation, MHE, building and infrastructure
- Communicate effectively verbally, written, and via email
- Resolve maintenance issues and understand available resources
- Track and store department inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment
- Support continuous improvement within all departments
- Work flexible hours and days (including holidays)
- Drive (powered industrial trucks) including people movers and forklifts
- Take WSI certification and pass
- Assist in resolving a wide range of maintenance issues
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks using tools and equipment
- Assist other technicians in repairing and maintaining facilities and systems
- Perform battery changes and preventive maintenance on batteries
- Understand equipment, machines, and systems to keep them running efficiently
- Identify and address small issues within large systems
- Prioritize tasks aligned with company goals
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 10 years of experience in maintenance supporting Material Handling Systems or related trade/technical school equivalency
- Flexibility with work hours and days (24/7 operation, including holidays)
- Ability to drive (powered industrial trucks) including people movers and forklifts
- Required to take WSI certification and pass
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work at heights and unusual positions
- Able to safely operate all hand tools
- Able to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis
- Able to operate powered industrial equipment including forklifts, pallet-jacks, and handcarts
- Maintain an environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, and working around moving equipment
- Comfortable with walking/standing 100% of the day
