Duties And Responsibilities

  • Repair all types of Conveyor equipment that RW sells and services.
  • Proficient in lacing, splicing, cutting, vulcanized, and cold bonding belts.
  • Mechanical, Electric, Pneumatic and software integration problem solving.
  • Perform alignment & tracking of belts.
  • Update training and skills on a continuing basis.
  • Train other employees as needed.
  • Maintain a profitable billing level.
  • Follow all Service Department procedures.
  • Communicate with assigned leadership.
  • Complete all service documentation in a timely, accurate fashion.
  • Communicate all options to customers before proceeding with work.
  • Complete jobs within quoted time limits when applicable.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly (inside and outside) vehicle.
  • Maintain an accurate assigned parts inventory, if applicable.
  • Represent the company favorably in all situations.
  • Report all accidents promptly, regardless of fault.
  • Account for 100% of available time during working hours.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when necessary.
  • Coordinate all overtime with assigned supervisor.
  • Must follow all procedures in the company’s Employee Handbook.
  • Must follow safety procedures and use good judgment in regard to safety.
  • Must be willing to work out of town as necessary.
  • Establish a positive rapport with customers.
  • Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by the Service management.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent Organizational Time Management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office Suite and similar software.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with employees, Co-workers, and Managers in other departments.
  • Willing to work off-hours as specific needs dictate and willing to assume more responsibility as required.
  • Must be able to maintain a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to manage time efficiently.
  • Must be customer oriented.
  • Able to always exhibit professional behavior.
  • Willing to follow mandates and procedures of the Service Department.
  • Ability to deal with customers on a face-to-face basis.
  • Maintain a sound working relationship with other technicians and fellow workers.
  • Must pass all available certifications appropriate to the position.
  • Maintain working knowledge of basic D.C. electricity, basic A.C. electricity, internal combustion, and diesel engines.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions and the risk of electrical shock.
  • Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration.
  • Frequent exposure to noise levels in the work environment that are sometimes loud.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years breakdown experience or comparable service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Position is non-sedentary.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee will be required to go onto job sites to perform duties where construction is underway.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • The position will require employees to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and the risk of electrical shock.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to noise levels in the work environment that are sometimes loud.

Pay Range

  • The hourly range for this position is $22.90 - $49.40.
