Job Duties
- Completes preventative maintenance routines
- Trains under management and crew lead
- Performs various tasks for customers
- Works in indoor and outdoor environments
- Completes on-site belt installation and preventative maintenance
- Completes call outs for emergency repairs
- Repairs conveyor belts using synthetic rubber repair, vulcanizing, and splicing techniques
- Set up, tear down, and maintain support structures
- Grease and change out rollers as needed
- Install and repair industrial electrical components
- Operate telehandlers, forklifts, and man-lifts
- Load and offload work trucks and semi-trailers
- Align and calibrate parts and mechanisms
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals
- Respond to customer inquiries and direct questions to appropriate personnel
- Occasional rigging to facilitate lifting of belt rolls, presses, tools, and materials to work areas at height
- Perform basic millwright tasks such as torch heating and cutting
- Install, diagnose, repair, and support equipment at customer sites
- Diagnose problems with equipment, assess the extent of the problem, document findings, and make decisions to repair and/or replace parts
- Ensure processes and environmental conditions comply with local and national regulatory agencies and Motion’s safety standards
- Work in a safe, courteous, and professional manner at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- No experience required, training provided
- Typically requires a technical degree and zero to three years of related experience or an equivalent combination
- MSHA Experienced Miner Surface AND Underground certification highly preferred
- One to two years of experience working belt line in mining, aggregate, or related industries preferred
- Forklift / telehandler certifications a plus
Qualifications
- Basic hand tool familiarity required
- Knowledge of basic math and ability to make calculations
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs on a regular basis and occasionally up to 100 lbs
- Safety conscious and responsible, always wearing required PPE
- Ability to visually inspect machinery and equipment for safe operations and quality control
- Ability to operate shop equipment safely
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness and ability to drive company vehicles in alignment with company policy within one year of start date
