About the Role
Responsible for monitoring the operation of assigned converting machine(s) ensuring product adheres to company standards of safety, quality, and throughput.
Responsibilities
- Support, demonstrate, and promote Pregis’ core values: integrity, collaboration, customer focus, and innovation.
- Adhere to the highest standards of company safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations, including all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Maintain housekeeping throughout assigned shift to ensure an orderly and safe environment.
- Perform physical and visual inspection of product to prevent non-conforming goods; promptly report all quality defects to the appropriate team members.
- Maintain appropriate levels of production supplies/materials to ensure next shift operators incur minimal downtime.
- Continuously monitor machine operation to ensure accurate product measurements and quality are maintained.
- Meet or exceed production rates, minimize waste levels, and meet all customer requirements.
- Enter production reporting data into the machine computer accurately.
- Acquire knowledge/skills of Set-up Technicians to better assist and troubleshoot when needed.
- Attend meetings and complete safety trainings as required.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to take coaching well and communicate respectfully with others to ensure a positive teamwork culture.
- Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with the team and during shift transition.
- Prior SAP or similar ERP system knowledge.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.
Work Environment
- Exposure to moving equipment.
- Inside work with heat that may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity that may exceed 80%.
- Noise may exceed 85dB.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, stooping, squatting (up to 75% of the time).
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs before partner assist.
- Occasional typing.
Schedule
Full-time, 12-hour rotation (8 a.m. – 8 p.m.). Overtime expected per business demand.
