About the role
The Converting – Flexo Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining flexographic printing and converting equipment used in the production of corrugated packaging. This role ensures high-quality print output, accurate die cutting, and efficient machine performance while meeting production goals and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate flexographic printing presses, including ink systems, print plates, dies, and anilox rolls
- Configure machine settings for slotting, scoring, die cutting, folding, and gluing based on job specifications
- Review and interpret production orders, print layouts, and customer specifications
- Maintain accurate production records, including downtime, waste, and output
- Monitor print quality, color consistency, registration, and finished product accuracy throughout production runs
- Perform adjustments to maintain proper alignment, ink flow, and equipment performance
- Conduct quality checks to ensure products meet company and customer standards
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of press equipment to ensure optimal operation
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, performing minor repairs and adjustments as needed
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance, and team members to support production goals
Requirements / Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or certification preferred)
- Previous experience operating flexographic printing or converting equipment strongly preferred
- Knowledge of printing processes, inks, plates, dies, and corrugated materials
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot production equipment
- Strong attention to detail, especially related to print quality and product accuracy
- Basic math and computer skills for measuring and tracking production data
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials, and work around industrial equipment
