Convenience Lead

About the role

This role is responsible for leading the day-to-day activities of the department operations in a retail store. The primary responsibilities include managing inventory, overseeing team performance, and ensuring compliance with company standards and goals.

Responsibilities

• Order and maintain inventory in the department, adhering to inventory control procedures.
• Review and validate received orders for accuracy, quality, and quantity.
• Manage a team to complete stocking, production, and other tasks, ensuring product quality and adherence to date-sensitive rotation.
• Maintain familiarity with all products in the department and throughout the store.
• Communicate and execute weekly and period flight plans to meet company expectations.
• Support the department manager in implementing and maintaining work schedules, labor control, overtime control, and payroll expense.
• Implement the company's Winning Recipe and model core values and competencies.
• Develop and monitor department goals and forecasts, as required.
• Attend and participate in daily huddles, manager meetings, and other company-level meetings.
• Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department, following structure of the day guidelines and Prime Time standards.
• Ensure adherence to food safety and safety guidelines, taking immediate corrective action when necessary.
• Support the department manager in developing and implementing a plan to meet company goals and key performance indicators.

Requirements

• High School Graduate (or equivalent GED)
• 0-2 years of retail experience preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills
• Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict management skills
• Strong leadership abilities with hands-on experience
• Good strategic planning and business acumen skills
• Knowledge of retail store operations and management systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Suggestive selling or knowledge of products preferred
• Ability to communicate in Spanish highly desirable, depending on company location

Physical Requirements

• Lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
• Work in a typical retail store environment with varied temperatures and exposure to outside weather conditions.
• Exposure to noise levels usually low to moderate.
