The Weekend Controls Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and PLC-controlled production equipment in a controlled environment. Key duties include analyzing equipment for hazards or issues, performing repairs, and making programming adjustments to ensure production reliability. Proficiency in ladder logic programming, particularly with the Allen Bradley platform (RS Logix 500/5000), is essential. The role involves using electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagnostics, maintaining program backups, evaluating new equipment, and working with Servo controls and variable frequency drives. Collaboration with maintenance teams and the Custom Equipment Process Group is necessary for machine improvements. Qualifications include at least 2 years of relevant experience, an associate’s degree in a technical field (preferred), and the ability to operate forklifts and aerial platforms. Familiarity with Enterprise Asset Management software and Microsoft Office is required. Skills in troubleshooting motors, using digital multimeters, and documenting equipment parameters are essential. Work involves documenting repairs, analyzing system performance, and supporting electrical troubleshooting across the plant.
