About the role

The work is on-site (5 days per week). This is a safety-sensitive role that may require additional drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Commission, program, set up graphics, establish communications links, perform end-to-end testing, troubleshoot, and service assigned projects.
  • Document point-to-point verification, validate sequence of operations, and complete job close-out requirements.
  • Serve as the direct customer contact, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, diagnosing, and repairing equipment and systems at customer locations.
  • Coordinate with team leaders and customers to understand on-site installation and repair requirements, forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work.
  • Stay current on Trane products related to installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems.
  • Maintain safety standards and security of company-issued assets by recording use, wear, and conditions.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work overtime and weekends as business needs require, including occasional overnight stays.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with 3–5 years of experience in HVAC/Controls. Technical school or formal training preferred.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and proficiency with handheld devices (e.g., Smartphone, iPad).
  • Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations (e.g., DUI, hit-and-run, license suspension, reckless driving, or multiple preventable collisions in the last 3 years).
  • Previous experience with DDC controls systems preferred.

Environmental and Physical Requirements

  • Must safely and legally operate a vehicle using a seat belt.
  • Must wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harnesses, and safety boots as required.
  • Must twist the trunk of the body 90 degrees in each direction, squat to touch the floor with both hands, and reach hands overhead.
  • Must stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, routinely up to 4 hours.
  • Highly physical role requiring regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 40 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move more than 40 lbs.
  • Must safely use a ladder with a 375 lb. total weight limit while carrying equipment of 50 lbs. or less.
  • Must maneuver confined access areas as small as 30” vertical x 45” horizontal.
  • Must routinely access rooftops with extension or fixed ladders at heights of 15’–20’, and occasionally up to 50+ feet.
  • May be exposed to variable weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, risk of electrical shock, noisy operating equipment, and other environmental conditions.

Pay

Hourly base pay range: $28.96 – $39.02. Compensation depends on seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation. This role is incentive-ineligible and not commission-eligible.
