Controls Technician

About the role

This is a direct hire, onsite role focused on maintaining and troubleshooting plant automation systems to ensure equipment reliability, product quality, and safe operations.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and control systems
• Perform minor PLC edits and support system upgrades and equipment installs
• Calibrate and maintain instrumentation (flow, temperature, pressure, level)
• Support electrical troubleshooting, wiring repairs, and component replacement
• Execute preventative and predictive maintenance on automation systems
• Maintain documentation for wiring diagrams, control panels, and system updates
• Partner with Maintenance and Operations to improve uptime and reliability

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in industrial automation or controls
• Technical certificate or equivalent hands-on experience in electrical/automation
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and motor controls
• Strong understanding of electrical systems (24VDC, 120/480VAC, relays, sensors)
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
• Experience in manufacturing or processing environments (food/beverage a plus)
• Knowledge of safety standards (LOTO, electrical safety, GMPs)

• Skilled in industrial automation or controls

Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary range of $74,000–$83,000, with a starting date of December 1st, 2023. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional on-call requirements.

Pay

$74,000–$83,000 DOE

Schedule

Mon-Fri, 8-5pm, but must have flexibility. Must be available for on-call duties as needed.
