Controls Technician
Position Overview
As part of the talented Controls team, you will play a critical role in supporting and advancing manufacturing automation systems that drive operational excellence. This role focuses on troubleshooting and optimizing controls and automation processes, developing and maintaining reliable systems, and contributing to the continuous improvement of factory operations. You will collaborate across teams to design, implement, and sustain innovative automation solutions, leveraging data and emerging technologies to enhance performance, efficiency, and reliability within manufacturing environments.
Essential Functions
- Supports manufacturing in troubleshooting automation and controls issues
- Develops and implements predictive and preventive maintenance procedures
- Participates on internal teams to facilitate the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of factory automation
- Influence and support the design and implementation of factory automation equipment
- Documents/write maintenance SOP's to perform repair and diagnostic functions
- Facilitates the definition and execution of design verifications and manufacturing control plans
- Engineer controls and software solutions for manufacturing work cells
- Support TPM efforts
- Leverage analytics to make strategic and tactical business decisions
Required Qualifications
- Competent in programming PLC’s & HMI’s, specifically Allen Bradley, and ideally Siemens
- Familiarity with CNC controls, primarily Siemens and Fanuc
- Possess the ability to read and understand controls prints
- Be able to modify prints using AutoCAD
- Exposure to technologies such as RFID, vision systems, laser engravers and robots
- Experience with SCADA programming, specifically Ignition, as well as exposure to SQL and Python
- Experience leading projects
- Willingness to learn and embrace new technologies
- Previous experience with CNC machining a plus
- Possess the ability to interact in a team environment with other employees and groups
- Post-high school education required
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field
Pay Range
The anticipated pay range for this position is $73,900- $90,500 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus of 10%. At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
