Controls Technician

Job Details

• Our client is a leading food manufacturer in central Alabama.
• The Controls Technician role is integral in ensuring the smooth operation of advanced automated systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex control systems, including PLC, sensors, drives, and 3 phase electrical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all control systems to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Assist in the design and implementation of new control systems, ensuring they meet the needs of our operations.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and implement improvements to existing systems.
• Provide technical support and training to other team members to ensure they understand and can effectively use our control systems.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in control systems technology and apply this knowledge to your work.
• Ensure all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the controls & automation maintenance.
• Extensive knowledge of PLC, sensors, drives, and 3 phase electrical systems.
• Proven experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing control systems.
• A strong understanding of control system design and implementation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members.
• A degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• A commitment to continuous learning and development.

Pay

$60,000 - $120,000 per year
