Controls Technician

About the role

The Technician – Controls 1 will be responsible for machine programming, controls analysis, diagnosing of control faults and problems. What Your Day Will Look Like includes troubleshooting machine controls, coordinating and performing electrical & instrumentation related maintenance activities, routine instrument calibration, corrective/preventive maintenance, equipment, and system improvements, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots machine controls
• Cookbook electrical & instrumentation related maintenance activities, including routine corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, equipment, and system improvements
• Performs routine instrument calibration and corrective/preventive maintenance on instrument equipment and control systems
• Installs, programs, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and services programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives and electrical support systems
• Repairs or replaces defective parts
• Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to ensure plant maintains a high level of efficiency and reliability

Requirements

• Minimum age 18 years old
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
• Maintain safety and security of Company assets
• Utilize all Company provided resources and technology
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and developing programmable logic controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) programs
• Ability to collaborate with other team members
• Ability to be innovative and self-motivated
• Effective organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management
• Effective problem-solving skills
