Controls Technician

About the role

The Controls Technician specializes in the installation, programming, start-up, and service of building automation and HVAC control systems for a variety of applications including air-conditioning, heating, ventilation, humidity control, and energy management systems. The role supports our growing service business within the Michigan area.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, and start-up building automation and HVAC control systems
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and optimize building automation systems
• Provide start-up services on complex HVAC equipment from a wide range of manufacturers
• Service commercial HVAC systems and controls integration
• Repair control systems and associated HVAC equipment

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in HVAC controls or building automation systems
• Familiar with Facility Explorer / CCT
• Experience with Distech controller line and GFX programming
• Proficient in Niagara environment, including EC-Net, Webs, Lynxspring, Vykon, or similar platforms
• Honeywell controls experience preferred but not required
• Basic understanding of DraftSight and Microsoft Visio
• Field experience with commercial HVAC systems and controls integration
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair control systems and associated HVAC equipment
• Owns their own hand tools
• Has a clean driving record
• OSHA 10-hour training certification (preferred)

Qualifications

Qualifications include a basic understanding of commercial air-conditioning, heating, and rooftop HVAC systems.

Skills

Skills include proficiency in various building automation and HVAC control systems, such as Facility Explorer, Distech controllers, and Niagara environments.
