Controls Technician
About the role
Join the Production Engineering Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering Battery Pack Assembly group as a Technician, supporting equipment development in collaboration with NAMCs and global teams. You will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with equipment specifications and standards, conducting machine risk assessments, and supporting equipment checks for safety and design confirmations. This role involves travel to vendors and NAMCs across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Japan.
Responsibilities
- Support equipment specification development to ensure standards compliance.
- Conduct machine risk assessments and confirmation activities.
- Complete equipment checks for safety, electrical, and mechanical design confirmations.
- Verify equipment, conveyor, and logistics hardware for cell and zone safety interlocks.
- Participate in vendor buy-off trials and larger zone trials.
- Adjust equipment to achieve safety, quality, and productivity targets.
- Travel to vendors and NAMCs in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Japan.
Requirements
- Experience with PLC programming, specifically with Omron, Mitsubishi, Siemens, or Allen-Bradley.
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft products such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Willingness to work up to 25% overtime, including 12-hour shifts and weekends.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% at peak times, both domestically and internationally.
Qualifications
- 2-year associate's degree in a technical field, completion of trade school, or 3+ years of relevant technical experience.
- Experience with manufacturing equipment procurement and installation.
- Experience with Kawasaki or Fanuc industrial robots for part transfer or auto-tightening.
- Experience with Keyence or other vision system setup and integration.
- Experience with AMRs and AGVs, including AGV traffic control systems.
Skills

Pay
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
