Controls Technician
About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Controls Technician to support our highly automated manufacturing operations within a cleanroom environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving automation systems, including PLCs, robotics, vision systems, cameras, servos, and related manufacturing equipment. This role requires a proactive problem solver who can swiftly address production issues, identify root causes, and implement immediate and long-term solutions to enhance equipment reliability, quality, and overall operational performance.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair automated manufacturing equipment, including PLCs, robotics, vision systems, cameras, and servo-driven systems.
- Respond to equipment downtime and production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Provide technical support to production, maintenance, setup, and engineering teams.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to increase uptime, reduce scrap, and improve efficiency.
- Monitor and verify manufacturing processes to ensure equipment and processes are operating within specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve automation systems and manufacturing processes.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in troubleshooting automation equipment, such as PLCs, vision systems, servos, motors, and wiring.
- Experience with Fanuc robot programming.
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing support.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Expertise in troubleshooting, robotics, automation, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, and repair.
- Experience with Cognex systems.
Work Environment
This position offers two shifts: 2nd shift from 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM and 3rd shift from 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM. The role requires active engagement in a production/manufacturing environment, working 42-50 hours per week, with occasional Saturday work if necessary. The Controls Technician will report to the shift supervisor and is expected to be hands-on in their approach.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62,000.00 - $70,000.00/yr. PTO, Health, Vision, Dental, 401k.
