About the role
Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization, seeks a skilled HVAC technician to join their team. This position involves performing system commissioning, troubleshooting, and resolving basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control issues.
Responsibilities
- Performs assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
- Troubleshoots and resolves basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
- Responds to basic warranty calls.
- Provides high-level service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related items.
- Acts as a trusted advisor to customers, providing solutions and outcomes at the time of service.
Requirements
- Vocational School four-year program or Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or similar field.
- Three years of industry experience or one year of experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
- Generally required knowledge includes HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
- Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls ethically and professionally.
- Ability to explain technical information to both technical and non-technical people.
- Leadership skills to support mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical Building Automation equipment on a job site.
- PC experience required and the ability to program HVAC related software.
Qualifications
- High degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
- Communicates with JCI contractors or customers upon arrival and departure.
- Fulfills administrative tasks including time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
- Documents changes and provides information for as-built documentation.
- Follows all safety standards and attends required safety training.
Skills
