Job Overview
We're looking for a Controls System Technician III to join our team supporting HVAC and building automation systems in the Dublin, OH area. In this role, you'll be a trusted advisor to our customers—performing system commissioning, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and controls issues, and delivering the kind of service that resolves problems on the spot.
What's the Job?
- Perform system commissioning using configuration and commissioning tools
- Load system-level controller software and complete diagnostics from controllers to end devices (sensors, actuators, etc.)
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems
- Respond to basic warranty calls and complete all required commissioning documentation
- Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment
- Keep management and the customer informed of job progress and issues
- Document changes and provide information for as-built documentation
- Communicate with the customer or contractor upon arrival and before leaving the work site
- Complete administrative tasks including time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation
- Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training
- Recommend solutions to improve facility efficiency, including upselling opportunities, and provide supporting quotes
What's Needed?
- Vocational school four-year program or Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field, plus 3 years of industry experience— or 4+ years of experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry
- Solid knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, and equipment installation/servicing techniques
- Strong interpersonal skills to represent the company professionally with customers and outside contacts
- Ability to explain technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ledership skills to support the work of mechanics on non-complex, non-critical building automation projects
- PC proficiency, with the ability to program HVAC-related software
- Reliable transportation required
